Sisters Dish

And Now For The Rest Of The Story…

The Sisterhood routinely endeavors to include pictures in our blog posts because we truly believe that “A Picture Tells a Thousand Words.” This post in particular adheres to that principle, telling our story not only in words but also in multiple pictures and videos. Hopefully it will capture the essence of our Reunion 2022 and illustrate the joy, laughter and nonsense that was the heart and soul of our day. So grab a seat and your drink of choice, and get ready for an audio visual extravaganza!

We’re Ready

After much planning and discussion, the Sisterhood of the Travelling Shoes first “in person get together” in over two years did happen and was by all accounts a huge success! There was lots of laughter and fun along with a wee bit of serious Sisterhood business (not really😂).

Waiting patiently for the festivities to begin

Wanting to ensure that we could make the most of our time together, Big Sis did a marvellous job of organizing things. She had hats and horns and beads and balloons at the ready. Middle Sis was delegated to bring the wine (Three Sisters wine of course) and after much deliberation it was decided that we would each bring one appetizer to contribute to the menu for the festivities.

Despite Big Sis being advised that her choice, Doritos, was not a real appetizer, she stuck to her guns and insisted that was what she wanted. I did feel a bit bad when I sent her to a specific store to find my beloved Macaroni and Cheese Bites, insisting that she just wasn’t looking hard enough when she said she couldn’t find them, only to discover that I had sent her to the wrong store… Ooops!

Left to right: Mac and Cheese Bites, Doritos and Chicken Wings

Fortunately, on the way to Big Sis’ house we were able to locate the Macaroni and Cheese Bites along with Little Sis’ choice of Honey Garlic Wings, although it did make us late to the party and caused Big Sis to have a minor anxiety attack as she had all of our activities timed to the minute.

In the end it was a feast fit for a king, although some of the pictures do show us with orange lips after consuming too many Doritos.

The Warm Up

Anticipating that we had a long day ahead of us, Little Sis, being the athlete of the group, insisted that we needed to do a warm up before we commenced the festivities and said she had found something on TikTok that she thought would be perfect. Although Big and Middle enthusiastically met the challenge, I’ll let you judge from the videos below how successful this warm up was. (It wasn’t fair……Little Sis had been practising for months!)

Not satisfied that we were ready, Little Sis also insisted that we do some jumping up and down to get our blood pumping. As you can see, Big Sis was particularly enthusiastic about this activity…

Down to Business

Despite what we may have led you to believe, we really didn’t conduct much official Sisterhood business. We decided just to focus on eating appies, drinking wine and taking pictures. Thanks to Big Sis’ daughter (our AV person extraordinaire) we learned how to do boomerang pictures and as you have seen, we might have overdone it a bit.

The Big Finish

After the wine was all gone, we decided that we needed a big finish for the day. And so we came up with what we called “The Roundtable Nonsensical Discussion of Topics You Never Really Wanted to Know About.” After a great deal of thought (and the aforementioned wine), we came up with a list of deep questions that each of us answered. Here is just a hint of our deep thinking abilities on display. There is much more of this video to come in future blog posts.

And in the end all there really was left to say was…..

We plan on doing a new post each Monday, so stay tuned for our next one entitled

“Keeping Up With The Sisters”
