Biscuit Barks

Dogs Have Feelings Too..

Hi everyone, Biscuit here. I am very honored to tell you that I did such a good job on my last couple of posts, I have been asked again to write a little something. I love writing stuff even though its hard to use the keyboard, not having opposable thumbs and all.

Covid has really been hard on all of us and I know that both humans and canines are anxious to get back to normal. Now that it is going away, and I am finally able to get out (paws crossed), I want to share with all of you the fabulous things that I am going to do.

Fun, Fabulous Fun!

I am all about enjoying life and having fun, so the first thing I am going to do is make an appointment at ” Dogtopia Spa and Day Care.” Yes there is such a place. It is the most exclusive Spa in all the Canine world. It is very posh, and expensive, around 300.00 Kibbles give or take, depending on the package you select. (You can even take Yoga, and do meditation. I can’t do meditation. I spend far too much time chasing my tail, and its just too hard to concentrate on anything else.)

My favorite package is the ” Relax Like You Are Sleeping On Your Favorite Bed.” This is magical. I have actually fallen asleep while getting my massage. (I mean, give me a tummy rub and I’m out like a light.) It was kind of embarrassing but the masseuse said it happens all the time.

After I get my massage I get the sea wrap. It’s a little uncomfortable but my coat is to die for afterwards. Next comes the pawdicure. I usually get my nails painted purple as that is my favorite color. To top off this fabulous day at the Spa I have some cucumber water. It is served in a crystal dish and is amazing. The only thing I don’t do is get in the hot tub, because I don’t like getting wet. I will only consent to getting wet up to my tummy, anything after that is just too scary.

Food, Fabulous Food!

The second thing I am going to do is go out to eat. I have been living off Kibble for the past year and a half, and I am just so excited at the thought of getting the chance to dine out again. Don’t get me wrong, I love my morning Kibble with water, but I also need a little variety. I mean come on, it’s the spice of life, right?

I love most foods, but my all time favorite is Sushi. I just love me some Sushi. I really like to go to the All You Can Eat places, and just stuff myself silly. Unfortunately I do have a tendency to overdo it and I have on occasion forgotten my wallet (purely accidental of course). As you can well imagine, I have been banned for life. I’m hoping enough time has passed however, that ownership has changed or they will just have forgotten about me. (Just in case you were wondering they do not have chopsticks. Everything is served in bowls, so its much easier to eat.)

FYI, I also like Thai, Mexican, and a good steak on occasion. Text me with an invite to to go to the Pub, hoist a few with my friends and join my gang for Doggie Trivia and I’m there! Yes, I get around.

Friends, Fabulous Friends!

The last thing I can’t wait to do is see my friends again. In my neighborhood there are lots of dogs and since I am a natural born leader, I’m the Head Dog/ Doggy Dude. I basically run the show so I have a lot of responsibility to keep law and order in the hood. Yes, I pretty much know everything that transpires in our little community.

Whenever I do have any problems I always go to see Tebow. He lives on one side of me. He’s old, and blind, but he is very wise. I went to talk to him once because I had a tendency to piddle in the house and that’s just not a good example to be setting for my peers. “Little one” he said,” that is probably not a good thing to do. You should stop.” So I did. That was when I realized just how wise he is. He has saved my butt on a few occasions.

Lets “Partay!”

Hershey lives on the other side. All he does is bark, and bark, but you know as the saying goes his “bark is worse than his bite.” In this case its very true. He maybe really big, but he is just a sweet heart. Yes, he’s a Gentle Giant.

Pepper lives up the street and is so full of energy, just watching her makes me tired. She is also kind of spinny, but she is always fun to be with. She knows all the best clubs to go to, so I’m really looking forward to getting my groove on again.

My newest friend is Benji, he lives on the corner and he is the new kid on the block, having moved here just over a year ago. He is very friendly and always has a joke or two to share. One time we barked for over 15 minutes but then I got bored and tried to chase a bird, and left him in the lurch. I felt kind of bad for doing that but the next time I saw him, he said he would have done the exact same thing.

(FYI, I would have loved to post pictures of my canine companions but I had my phone taken away due to perceived bad behavior on my part.)

As you know, along with freedom comes great responsibility. Frankly, as excited as I am to get out there again, I’m a little apprehensive. I haven’t been in a position of authority for so long now, and I’m not sure I can recapture my leadership role. I’m hoping it’s like riding a bike (even though I’ve never ridden one) and “the universe unfolds as it should,” as they say in Desiderata. I am going to practice my strutting, erect posture and my commanding bark before I venture out into the real world again, but for now, I am going to sit out on the patio, bask in the sun and raise a glass of wine to all the good things to come. I’m feeling fabulous! Biscuit out.

We plan on publishing a new post every Monday so stay tuned for our next one entitled “Start Each Day With a Grateful Heart.”
