OOPS! I Left My Heart and My T-shirts in San Francisco
Our San Francisco adventure is nearing its end. We have two days left and the SFSWS (San Francisco Speaking With Strangers) competition is intense. Mag is leading but Kerri is gaining momentum and Shauna's efforts are nothing short of pathetic. Stay tuned folks.

I Can See Clearly Now
Shauna begins the day by waking up, putting on the wrong pair of glasses and freaking out because everything is blurry. Oops! They are Mag's glasses….What a relief! She thought that overnight her eyesight had deteriorated dramatically. This was an honest mistake and easy to understand when put into context because there have been accusations in the past that Shauna was trying to turn Mag into her clone. This is most unfair.

I Left My Heart In San Francisco
You are correct in your observation that the above picture looks as if we are facing a wind machine. It is not an optical illusion. We simply wanted definitive proof that we actually visited San Francisco and we felt that this picture would provide it…..where else would you find a gigantic heart with a picture of the Golden Gate Bridge on it? So there you go! We really were in San Fran.

February is the Shortest Month….
Like most people, I am convinced that years from now, the year 2020 will be remembered as a watershed, momentous time in our history. When it began, I was determined to spend it being creative, innovative and positive. Every month, I was going to do something spectacular! Little did I know that my intention would be taken entirely out of my hands, and depend upon the course of Covid-19. With that in mind, I offer thoughts from a point in time when life was still quite “normal” and we could to a certain extent control how our destiny unfolded. What follows then, now seems quite naive and self absorbed, but…

I Married a Vegan
Well, it didn't start out that way. Forty plus years ago when we first met, my husband was your typical meat and potatoes guy. He has always been health conscious and works hard to stay in shape.

Hands of Love
We are so pleased to have our aunt do a guest post this week about our mom. However, before you dive in to her post, we thought a little background would be helpful: “Auntie Lana” as she is affectionately known in our family, is our dad’s youngest sister and, as you will discover, was more like a sister than a sister-in-law to mom.

Fitness is Fun!
Our Sisterhood blog and Instagram posts have often alluded to our "fondness for fitness"....and its true, we do believe that fitness is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle. In fact, even when we are not exercising, we are certainly thinking about doing it, (some of us spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about doing it) The obvious conclusion is that although we are in general agreement as to the health benefits of exercise, we each incorporate varying levels of it into our daily routine.

Having Fun is #1….
Have you ever wanted to just get away? Well, after our mom Betty passed that is exactly what we wanted to do, so we booked a cruise to Alaska! In preparation for our trip, we conferred over packing lists, discussed possible shore expeditions and shared our hopes and dreams for this "magical journey." First and foremost, however, we established the one unwavering theme of this voyage....."Having Fun is Number One!"

Oh the Things We Learned in Saskatoon….
We looked upon our Saskatoon experience as a learning opportunity, so we conducted an extensive review and analysis of events and rated and categorized each significant factor. After thoughtful discussion, we were able to conclude that in the future we should do the following:

We Did It!
As serious 5K walkers, we knew we had to have a strategy and ours was quite simple....DON'T FINISH LAST! We set a blazing pace out of the starting gate and are happy to note that in fact we are not last!! So far so good! At about the halfway point we notice Mag is lagging behind and the people behind us are closing in. After Mag admits that when we thought she was at the gym training, she was actually on the couch watching reruns of Pittsburgh Steelers games, we adjust our pace and decide we have to take some desperate measures...
